In 2014 Ure-tech grew from a 1,000 sq. ft. facility with two installation crews, installing 80,000 sq. ft. per year. To date, Ure-tech Surfaces Inc. has a new facility with over three acres with a 6,000 sq ft indoor facility and operating three installation crews with the capability of installing over 150,000 sq. ft. of rubber annually.

Rick Wernik

Rick Wernik started installing poured-in-place rubber surfacing for a Pickering company in 1991. Ure-tech Surfaces Inc. was formed in 2003 to offer a “in-situ” rubber surfacing company with a specific installation process unique to Ure-tech Surfaces.

Roger Bown

Roger Bown started with Ure-Tech in 2005. He has been a key person in the growth of the company since its conception in 2003. Roger is a certified installer for all poured-in-place systems, PlaySoft systems installing with his crew for over 19 years. Roger has been involved in every aspect of the supply and install side of the company. He has also successfully completed the extensive training & examination process required by the OPA and is now a fully Registered Playground Practitioner.

Cooper Bown

Cooper Bown started his career with Ure-Tech in 2010. Starting at a very young age Cooper worked his way through various positions learning everything about poured-in-place safety surfacing. He is now a certified installer by Ure-Tech, has his own crew, and has installed various poured-in-place applications across Ontario. Cooper has been with the company for the past 14 years and has installed systems including PlaySoft Rubber Mulch. He has also successfully completed the extensive training & examination process required by the OPA and is now a fully Registered Playground Practitioner.

Brenden Clapp

Brenden Clapp Brenden brings over 20 years of hands-on experience and leadership in the poured-in-place rubber safety surfacing industry. Known for his commitment to quality, integrity, and exceptional workmanship, Brenden has earned a trusted reputation across Canada and beyond. His portfolio includes a wide range of successful installations — from local community projects to large-scale international developments. Throughout his career, Brenden has consistently demonstrated an eye for detail and a deep understanding of industry standards, helping to elevate safety and aesthetic standards in recreational and commercial spaces alike. Beyond the job site, Brenden is a dedicated family man. He is married with two young sons who are active in rep sports. Whether he’s coaching hockey, cheering from the sidelines at lacrosse, enjoying a round of golf, or spending time camping with his family, Brenden brings the same passion and commitment to his personal life as he does to his professional work. He has also successfully completed the extensive training & examination process required by the OPA and is now a fully Registered Playground Practitioner.
